This 1963 (ish) Burns Vista Sonic bass has been a (frustrating) long term project that is finally done and ready to go back to its owner.
The original Bakelite tuner buttons were cracking and made it impossible to get the bass up to tune. After a couple of attempts I finally managed to repair the originals, which there is no direct replacement for and would have meant drilling the headstock to fit replacements.
It's now had a fret dress and setup and plays great. Funnily enough, like on most Burns instruments, the "Wild Dog" setting is the coolest switch name ever but my least favorite setting.
