Tym records releasing Steve Turner EP in June

Steve Turner is known to many but some of you who don't know the name have almost definitely heard his music. After some smaller bands in the early 80's he met up with future collaborator in distortion Mark Arm in Seattle and played in a band called Green River with Mark and Stone Gossard and Jeff Ament, who both went on to form Pearl Jam. Steve and Mark started the wonderfully noisy punk garage rock band Mudhoney with Matt from the Melvins and Dan Peters on drums.
In this form they recorded the game changing Touch Me I'm Sick and released Superfuzz Bigmuff and the world was never the same again.
Steve has continued to focus on Mudhoney throughout the years along with recording and releasing music in many different forms and genres with bands and his solo projects ranging from garage to folk and everything in between.

Tym records and Steve have got together to offer you this 4 track 7" presenting two sides of Steve's personality and love of music.
Side 1 is "garage" Steve with two short, dirty gems in the form of Summertime, originally written and recorded by Charles Douglas and featured Moe Tucker on drums. The second song on side 1 is Down the Drain and features Robb Clarke and Stone Gossard from a side project demo recorded under the band name The Lopes.
Flip the vinyl and side 2 comes up all folk and country with two beautiful acoustic songs in the form of I-5 Corridor, which is a one take wonder recorded by Steve and an acoustic guitar in September 2013 at Third Man Records' Record Booth direct to 5" clear vinyl and transferred onto this EP for your pleasure. The second song on side 2 is Snow County Weavers and is adapted from a James Welch Poem and put to music by Steve.
This little Tym records 4 track 7" EP is called Steve Turner And Four Of His Bad Ideas and is available on limited edition brown vinyl in June.

Cover artwork is by Photocoyote and features drawings of Steve in both punk and folk incarnations with half the 7"s with "punk Steve" on the cover and half with "folk Steve"
Liner notes by Steve describe and explain the songs and personnel in more detail and like all Tym records each one is hand numbered with love.

Out June 2015 exclusively through Tym records worldwide.
